My guilty pleasure is hidden in my imagination...

Well, well, well, hello everyone!

Since my early childhood I´ve always been fascinated by the power of my imagination. I discovered this hidden magical door where it was living, entered inside and ever since we have been together all the time. I can´t imagine my life without imagination. I see the things that no one else can see, I feel happy about the things that others see too normal and ordinary. I just LOVE associating things, people, events, tastes, places, clothes, sounds with something that might seem incomparable. I hear the colors, see the music and paint aromas... . I just can´t do otherwise. And I´m more than sure that not for anything in the world would I like to lose my imagination. Without it I just won´t be the same me.

And even if my husband always tells me that he is not a creative person, I can never agree with him, because, first of all, he understands "the language" of my imagination, and, secondly,  our associations often coincide, especially associations that we have about the people. Almost always these associations turn into nicknames that we use more often than their real names speaking about these people.

The page that I´m showing you today is dedicated to one of these funny moments borning from the associations, a habit of inventing nicknames. 80% of the people that we meet (with an exception of the family and close friends=) sooner or later share the same "destiny" of getting their nicks. Mostly these are peculiar features of the character or the way of behaviour that provocates the comparisons which later give birth to associations and nicknames.
This "guilty pleasure" that my imagination lets itself enjoy from time to time, concerns the members of the family as well, mostly it happens with my husband. For example, when I discovered that in spanish "armpit" is "sobako" (sounds like "sobaka" in Russian what means "dog"), I started calling the armpits "perritos" (=doggies). Well... and talking more about a dogs´theme, I often laugh at my husband, calling him my american cocker, becuase he eats as much as a cocker that once lived in our house- can eat everything that I put on the table, even when he´s already full. But if you want a doggie look like a real cocker, he needs to have long ears,  it is when the socks appear to help us! All we need is just put them on the ears and here we go!!!
I made this page using a wonderful sketch from Once upon a Sketch, having rotated it 90 degrees. And, as I´ve already said, this page is dedicated to one of my everyday guilty pleasures- invent nicknames:-)

This page will go to my art-diary "Magical moment of 2013". All the embelishments in this page are hand-made. The journaling is written in the piece of old altered jeans, coverd with gesso.
